In April 2014, for two weeks, the SE project coordinator attended a training at Khom Loy Development Foundation about basic Montessori. The project coordinator will take the skills and knowledge she gained from the trianing and give similar trainings to SE town based staff and SE teachers in camp.

During the first week of June 2014, the Special Education schools in all 7 camps held an opening ceremony for students and teachers.

The SE project coordinator and KWO education program coordinator went into the 7 camps to do monitoring trips. They met with school committee members, camp leaders, parents, and camp education leaders. They discussed the activities for 2014-15, including the new small group activity for Early Intervention (EI) students. Some of the new activities for this school year includes, EI small group activities for students who are mobile (EI students who are not mobile will continue to receive home visits).  The identified children – who are mobile, will come to the SE Centre 3 days per week. The children will be organized into small groups of 2 – 5 children, based on their disability and their ages. One SE Teacher will work with one small group and other SE teachers will “float” from group to group giving support where needed. The day will be divided up into a clear schedule of activities tailored for those particular children.
