Warm greetings from the Karen Women’s Organization (KWO). 2025 marked the 40^th Anniversary of the KWO and we celebrated and organized throughout the year. The 40th Anniversary has been an opportunity to reflect on KWO’s evolution from a small beginning to the much larger and more empowered group it is today. KWO advocates for gender equality, provides many essential services in our community, and works to ensure women’s participation in political processes and decision-making at all levels.

KWO is deeply grateful for the support from our allies, donors, and friends, and especially for the women who have built and worked in the organization. The organization’s members have always been our strength, and KWO looks forward to continuing to serve and strengthen the Karen community. As we reflect on the past 40 years, we remain committed to the vision of a future filled with empowered women—knowing that each anniversary marks another important step toward our shared dreams and goals for women, children and the wider Karen community.
