The Burden of Tomorrow: Women’s Lives in Refugee Camps

June 20th, 2026  •  Category: News

June 20, 2026 marks World Refugee Day. This year’s theme, “Until Everyone is Safe,” reminds us that we must continue working together to ensure refugees can live with safety, dignity, and hope.

Vulnerable groups including children, older persons, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and those who are ill still need access to food and healthcare.

As a women’s organization, we are concerned about mothers with young children who cannot leave the camp for work without risking child protection concerns. We call for more home-based livelihood opportunities for women and urge the Thai government to address these challenges.

We also encourage continued support for local organizations to help communities prepare for employment opportunities, strengthen essential services, and ensure vulnerable people receive the care they need.
